Use your Android device as an ad-hoc wireless router. HotSpot control allows you to turn your Android phone or tablet into a temporary router, allowing your other devices to connect to each other using it. This is perfect for spur-of-the-moment LAN parties in hotel rooms or sharing documents directly, but there’s another potential advantage – tethering.
Getting started is simple – just fire up the app. You can choose whatever SSID (network name) and password (mandatory) you like, and then tap “Enable Access Point” and you’ll have a network.

You should now see your new network on your other devices – whether it’s a laptop, desktop, tablet, PC, Mac, or Linux doesn’t matter. Connect the way you normally would with as many devices as you’d like, and you’ll be able to send files from one computer directly to another or play network-only games.

This router-like functionality is built into Android, and has been for years. Many wireless carriers – and even some Android devices – hide the option from the settings instead of removing it altogether.
If your device works that way the app might allow you to tether, even though tethering is disabled. It’s worth noting, however, that the developers themselves say this is not the purpose the app was designed for – just an added bonus for some users.
It’s also worth noting some wireless carriers will charge you for extra Internet usage, tethered or otherwise. Beware.
